Here is the boots I decided to send in and the story that is followed by them!

Nike Mercurial Superfly I “Wear it Proud”

I could post pics of these endless of times! The famous Nike Mercurial Superfly I “Wear it Proud”, there is only 70 pairs in the world and all individually hand made in Italy!

The boots were released in 2009 and originally made for Ugo Moyne and the English rugby team to celebrate the launch of the new England Nike purple away kit in 2009. Inspired by the iconic purple track jacket that was rewarded to players called up to represent England in the 70โ€™s, 80โ€™s and 90โ€™s.

Rumors tell that 30 pairs were given to the rugby team members and only 40 pairs sold to public.

The pair I own is numbered 05/70 and made for the winger Tom Varndell.

Truly a masterpiece!

My story!

Let’s start with the fact that I have always loved to play football, everything I done I somehow relate it to football. I joined a registered club in quite late age, as 12 years old, when kids usually start in a club as 6-7 yers old.I improved fast in my career, all thanks to many hours of own practice. Already as 14 years old I were invited to play with the adults first team in BK-46.

Today I have been playing 9 years as semi-proffesional in Finnish 2nd division. My possition on the field is left wingback or left midfielder.

My football boots history.

My very first football boots were a pair of Nike Tiempo that my parents bought to me from a local grocery store. As my feet grew I had to get another pair. This time I got the boots free from a friend of mine, a pair of used Puma Kings and they happened to be 2 sizes too big.

Soon in a age of 15 I started to notice that I were interested in the design of football boots, even in some history and developement of boots.

At this time I wore a pair of Adidas Predator Manias followed by Adidas F50+ “Spiderweb” and Nike Mercurial Vapor II. Then in 2006 I continued with the Nike Mercurial Vapor III and since then I have been wearing Nike Mercurial! And why I do that: I got narrow feet and one of my strengths has been speed, so I like the close to ball feel with the Mercurials.

Two boots that started it all!

When I was 13 years old I made a wishlist for christmas. On that list there was a pair of Adidas Predator Precision. The most beautiful boot I had ever seen! I cut the ad from a newspaper and glued on my wishlist, hoping to get a pair for christmas. Sadly it never happened. This because the Precisions were an old model and sold out in Decenber 2002. So the christmas was ruined haha.

The second boot that is a big part of my life is Nike Mercurial Vapor I. Released in 2002, the same year that I started football. First years I wore Nike Tiempo, Puma King and Adidas Predator, but they didn’t feel alright. So in 2003 I had the opportunity to try a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor I and they were spot on! The look, the touch and the lightness was perfect.

Favourite Player and Team.

All began during the 2002 World Cup in Japan & South Korea. I were watching France playing on the TV and I asked my parents which player should I follow? Mom replied: “Watch Zidane play!” From that day Zidane was my favourite player and idol!

My favourite team became Real Madrid, simply as Zidane played there.

Once Zidane got retired from football I kept supporting Real Madrid. A new idol for me became Benzema, a bit similiar history as Zidane.

Custome made: Nike Mercurial Vapor III “Gold”

I had been thinking of this project for some time already. I had the right paint but I were not 100% sure if it would work, also I didin’t want to ruin a great pair of boots either.

I like to think about them as one of Nike’s golden boots through the years!

The original colourway was the white and yellow which also was the release colourway in 2006. The white base made them easy to be re-painted. I used a spray paint made for plastic, rubber and wood materials. Many people are asking me if the paint would last while playing in them? The truth is that in hard use the colour would start to slowly vanish, but then again these were not painted for play in ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope you like the result and make sure to check out the video clip on my YouTube account: Toffem

Italy made it!

Few of us believed Italy could win Belgium, in the end their concept worked and Italy won 2-0. Good defending and pure finishing! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

These Nike Mercurial Vapor III Fg boots were made back in the day to celebrate Italy winning the World Cup 2006 in Germany. They won the Finale agains France 5-3 in penalties, after extra time the game ended 1-1.

These boots are limited edition and made only 250 pairs in the world. Truly a beautiful boot and one of top boots in the any collection!

EURO boots!

The Euro 2016 has started and it’s time to look back at some old boots released during Euro’s! The old boots really bring back old memories and stories.

I have picked the following boots as they remind me of the Euros 1996-2012:

  • Adidas Predator Touch Fg 1996
  • Nike Mercurial Match Fg 2000
  • Adidas Predator Precision Sg 2000
  • Nike Mercurial Vapor II Fg 2004
  • Adidas Predator Pulse Sg 2004
  • Nike Mercurial Vapor SL Fg 2008
  • Adidas Predator Powerswerve Sg 2008
  • Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII Fg 2012

For me the favourite boots are the Adidas Predator Precision Sg from Euro 2000 in Netherlands and Nike Mercurial Vapor SL Fg from Euro 2008 in Austria & Switzerland!

Best of Nike

Can you spot any favourites in the picture? Some of the greatest in Nike football boots history!

I think Nike Mercurial has kept it’s look and touch during many years and they always suprise somehow!

It’s nice to see the developement of Mercurial going from R9 to CR7, which player will continue the era of speed boots?

Nike Mercurial CR SE

All together!

Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE, Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE Sg-Pro and Nike Mercurial Superfly IV CR SE Sg-Pro ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป

The first two editions are limited to 100 pairs of each. Third pair there is 333 pairs made globally, my pair is numbered 333/333!

The boots are really hard to get hold off nowdays, so I’m glad to own them. I’m also enjoying taking pictures of them, no matter which angle you choose it always results a great picture!

The hard question is: Which one is the best?

Adidas Predator Accelerator Sg

Found the missing original studs for the Adidas Predator Accelerator Sg ๐Ÿ˜ The search for old studs like these are difficult as they only made these between years 1998-2004. They made these Adidas screw in studs in grey, black and white. Every stud has two adidas logos on them.

Only for some proffesionals sponsored by Adidas and “Made in Germany”! These might be the rarest Predators to be found, definitely one of the best looking.

I try to create different and unique pictures in every photoshoot, this time I tried to kind of copy an old Adidas advertisment. Haha hope you like it and yeah it’s me on the picture.

Nike Total 90 Laser I

When I see these I think about Fernando Torres in his glory days playing for Liverpool!

Nike really did great creating the first Laser boot, with as always a stunning release colour! The yellow base with black details makes them one of the best colour combos ever.

Which player do you think about when you see these?
