History of Nike Mercurial!

I’m sad not to be able to participate in the history of Mercurial event in @worldsbestfootballstore in Kopenhagen, as I’m myself on a trip to Vancouver, Canada!

But instead I will post a picture of my Nike Mercurial collection, all the way from 1998 to 2016!

Long live Nike Mercurial 😃

The fact that I’m like 5000 km from in Vancouver, Canada so I had to prepare by taking as many pics as possible so I can keep up posting on InstaGram and blog LOL

Will post some cool pics in few following days on InstaGram as @toffem and here on the blog!

Nike Vapor Untouchable II SB50

A new addition, not exactly a football boot but reminds quite a lot of the Superfly😜Nike Vapor Untouchable II SB50!

Had to buy them for 2 reasons:

– I paid 80£ and they retail for 170£ so I think it was a good price!

– And I think they really look great and looking similiar to Superfly. They also feel good on the foot!

Things that are different from a Nike Superfly football boot is basically the soleplate, extra padding in the ankle area and that’s about it!

Any thoughts? And I wont start collect American football boots 😂

Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE Sg-Pro

One of the rarest boots ever, Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE Sg-Pro!Made to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo winning his 2nd FIFA Ballon d’Dor for the season of 2013!

Cristiano Ronaldo really earned the best player award for the season of 2013 by scoring a total of 69 goals in 59 appearances. He also scored 12 goals in the Champions League, finishing as the Champions League top goalscorer for a second time in his career.

The boots are Limited Edition, only 100 pairs made in the world, my pair is numbered 63 of 100. Nike did well by keeping the design simpel but very classy by adding the stunning Sg-Pro soleplate in gold! Has to be one of the classiest boots ever made.

Great work by C.Ronaldo and by Nike!

K-leather Nike Mercurial Vapor I & T90 II

You may have herd some one say “Black boots can’t go wrong”, what if they black and made of the finest Kangaroo leather?😉

Nike released in 2002-2003 a K-leather version for both the Nike Mercurial Vapor I and Nike Total 90 II. I’m not sure if the boots where a limited release but what I know these are really hard to come by! Some say they were only released in the US or Asia?

Best features on the boots are definitely the black leather and the stiching! You can really see that they are high quality. For me who have always been a big fan of the Mercurial, imagine Vapor in leather! Also I think it was wise to keep the colours simple black/white.

Luckly I have got them both 😊

Year of 2006 was a great year!

What comes to football boots the year of 2006 was a superb year for many brands!

Nike released the Mercurial Vapor III, maybe the best Vapor ever made. Adidas continued their Predator range with the Absolute and introduced the F50.6 Tunit. Puma made a comeback with the Puma v1.06, and really competed once again with Nike and Adidas!

I bet we all have some memories back in 2006? If so please share the moments!

Nike Tiempo Legend V R10 Premium “Touch of Gold”

My latest addition is the Nike Tiempo Legend V R10 Premium also called “Touch of Gold”! Designed for the 2004 and 2005 Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho.

Made of the purest leather the Nike Tiempo Legend V R10 is an update to the Nike Tiempo Air Legend I back in 2005. Everyone remebers Ronaldinhos crossbar challenge on YouTube!

This boot was a limited released in 2015 and sold out in under an hour! Only 3000 pairs made and they are all individually numbered, which is always a bonus. My pair is numbered 2932 of 3000.

Puma v1.06 i

In 2006 Puma really got back to the fight with Nike and Adidas. Puma presented the v1.06 which was the lightest boot Puma ever made.
Some great players wore them such as Samuel Eto’o, Robert Pires, Alexander Hleb and Fredrik Ljungberg. Puma used a so called “Scholler ConTec” upper material which made the boot light and gave close to bare foot feel. To increase the bare foot feel puma reshaped the front of the foot and used “Puma Lace Wrap System” to ensure a optimal fit.To reduce even more weight Puma used carbon fibre in the soleplate, which gave more flexibility and strength.

Puma v1.06 had also a stud pattern that was different from the other brands, especially the studs in the heel was designed for speed.

Speed Boots!

Some of the lightest boots in history!1. Adidas F50 Adizero 99g: 99 gram

2. Adidas F50 Adizero Prime: 145 gram

3. Puma evoSpeed SL Ducati: 158 gram

4. Nike GS Concept: 160 gram

5. Adidas Samba Primeknit: 165 gram

6. Nike Mercurial Superfly I: 180 gram

There is plenty more light boots out there but these are some of the most eye catching!

Which is your favourite among these speed boots?
