Adidas F50 Adizero 99 Gram

A landmark for football boot history. First ever football boot to weight just under 100 grams; the Adidas F50 Adizero 99 gram. Limited edition of 299 pairs made worldwide.
Adidas spent over 2 years experimenting and testing which materials and components to use to reach two digits. The upper is made of a single layered lightweight textile material inspired by special material from NASA. The upper is not affected by any weather condition and it will always weight 99 grams.
The super thin soleplate is made of polymide and is only 1 mm thick! Adidas has made everything to reduce weight.

The boot is so light that the durability gets weaker, that´s why Adidas included a tag with the boots saying “Only for the games that matter”.

Adidas Predator Precision Sg “Platinum”

One of my favourite boots of all time, the Adidas Predator Precision! As previous years Adidas used to release a new boot every Championship year. Adidas Predator Precision was released in 2000 during the Euro Cup 2000 in France. A major update from the earlier Predator models was that Adidas made the rubber fins thinner, more like rubber ribs that gave more swerve and power.

Adidas also added a fold over tongue which was locked to the boot with Velcro!

David Beckham was one of the big names that made this boot very popular. Everyone remembers the stunning last minute freekick goal against Greece in Euro 2000 wearing a white pair of the Predator Precision!

So what Adidas did was basically the first David Beckham signature boot, the Adidas Predator Precision Platinum Sg 2000! This boot was released in limited numbers and only in United Kingdom, France, Germany, USA and Japan. They were limited to 333 pairs in each country and they are individually numbered. They included a stunning presentation box made of aluminium, blocket and a holographic card with the same number as the boot!

I had been looking for these boots almost entire time that I have been collecting, since 2006. And finally last year I found a pair, numbered UK169/333.

The past and present time!

Remember the past and look to the future!
In 1994 the football world changed when Nike released Tiempo and Adidas released Predator. Before that Puma had basically ruled the football boot market. But Nike and Adidas made a great expression to both the players and audience in 1994 World Cup in USA. In final between Italy and Brazil most of the players wore the Nike Tiempo or Adidas Predator! (Nike Tiempo in the picture is a remake from 2009.)

It’s 2016 and both brands doing strong having knitted boots on market! When the knitted boots came out in 2014 there was some positive and negative reaction, as always when something new appears. But still everyone of us were curious to test this new knitted material.

Piece of Art!

You can’t talk about art without mentioning Michelangelo! He was a great   Italian artist who lived during the Renaissance. One of his greatest and well known pieces is “The Creation of Adam”!

So I wanted to recreat this piece of art by adding some influence from football!

Haha, did I manage in my task or not?

Nike vs. Adidas

So a big question in todays football boot world is which knitted boot to choose? Nike Magista Obra “BHM” vs. Adidas Ace16+ PureControl? Definitely some of the top range boots out there!

Both of the boots feel comfortable and look really cool on foot. Nike uses laces and Adidas goes laceless.

I asked the same question on my InstGram: @toffem as result I had 12 of 17 people who answered choosing Nike Magista Obra “BHM” over the Adidas Ace16+ PureControl!

Both great boots and high innovation from both brands.

Make sure to check out for more!

Adidas Primkenits

So wanted to take a picture with some of the Primeknits made by Adidas. I think the trend in football boots is going more and more to the knitted materials. It’s easy to shape, many color options, comfortable and relatively cheap to produce. I think most of us likes the knitted boots nowdays?

So in this picture from the bottom to top:

  • Adidas Samba Primeknit, first ever knitted boot in Adidas football boot history. Released in 2014 alongside the World Cup in Rio. Only 150 pairs made globally!
  • Adidas Primeknit 2.0, the second generation of Primeknit. Released 2015 and limited to 10 000 pairs!
  • Adidas Ace16+ PureControl, the latest innovation from Adidas with knitted upper and laceless technology. Not a limited edition but sold out almost every where in couple of days!

Adidas Ace16+ PureControl

So about a month ago Adidas released the most innovative boot in Adidas football boots history, the Adidas Ace16+ PureControl with laceless technolog.

Adidas is using something called “Techfit” which is basically an internal knit system that keeps the foot on place and stabile while been used. Also my pair is equipped with SG-soleplate that gives a better grip on rainy days.

The upper is primeknit which Adidas made to mould to the different shapes of feet. They made the boot to add comfort and creat stability although without laces.

The collar is called Primecut, it’s a sock-like support to the ankle and connects to rest of the boot. Also you notice the loops on top of the sock, these are to help the user to put the boots on their feet.

My first impression was that the boot itself is good looking and comfortable on the foot. In the beginning I didin’t fancy the color but it grows on you by time! Adidas made an innotive boot but how many are gonna wear them for real or are they just a perfect show off? 😉

They were not a limited release but despite that they sold out almost every where in couple of days!

Nike Mercurial Superfly I “Wear It Proud”

Nike Mercurial Superfly I Fg “Wear It Proud”, released in 2009 and originally made for Ugo Moyne and the English rugby team to celebrate their new purple away kit. Each boot has been handmade in Italy and individually numbered from 1 to 70. Rumors tell that 30 pairs were given to the rugby team members and only 40 pairs sold to public.

I bought my pair 2 years ago in a charity auction, mine are numbered 5 of 70. They were worn by Tom Varndell in that same game against Argentina.

Nike “Radiant Reveal Pack”!

It has been lately many blackouts and whiteouts, but now as we getting closet to spring break Nike is revealing the coming “Radiant Reveal Pack” with some serious colours! Which pair do you fancy most? For me it has to be Vapor, Superfly or Magista Obra!
